What We May Work On
-
Vision & Strategy – Clarifying where you want to go, what matters most and the strategic choices needed to get there.
-
Team Mission & Sense of Purpose – Exploring why the team exists, the value it creates and what should guide the way people work together.
-
Organisation Design – Looking at how structure, responsibilities, interfaces and ways of working need to evolve to support the organisation’s priorities.
-
Roles & Responsibilities – Creating greater clarity around ownership, decision-making, accountability and how different roles work together.
-
Ways of Working & Process Optimisation – Understanding what helps or slows the work down, simplifying collaboration and improving how work moves across teams or functions.
-
Customer & Consumer Insight, Innovation – Bringing customer or consumer needs into the room, exploring unmet needs, challenging assumptions and generating new possibilities.
-
Growth Opportunities & Segmentation – Exploring where future growth may come from, how different customer or consumer groups should be understood, and where to focus attention and resources.
How We Work
Every workshop starts with the question the group actually needs to answer.
Before the session, I normally work with the sponsor or project lead to understand the context, the people involved and what a useful outcome would look like.
From there, I design the flow of the workshop around the challenge itself.
That may include individual reflection, small-group work, structured discussion, prioritisation, visual tools, scenario thinking or practical decision-making exercises.
The aim is to create enough structure to move the conversation forward, while leaving enough space for different perspectives, challenge and new ideas to emerge.
I do not want participants simply to agree quickly. Good workshops often surface differences that need to be understood before genuine alignment can happen.
Where This Can Help
Facilitation can be useful when a team needs to:
-
create shared direction around a complex question
-
involve different functions or perspectives in shaping the answer
-
move from discussion towards clearer choices and priorities
-
work through areas of disagreement or ambiguity
-
create stronger ownership of decisions
-
turn ideas into practical next steps
The benefit is not only a better workshop.
When people help shape the direction themselves, they are usually better able to understand it, challenge it constructively and take ownership for what happens next.
Facilitation or Team coaching?
Facilitation focuses primarily on the question or outcome the team needs to work through – for example a strategy, organisation design, priorities or a new way of working.
Team coaching focuses more deeply on the team itself – its relationships, dynamics, patterns and how it works together over time.
The two can complement each other, but they serve a different purpose.
Format
Workshops are designed around the organisation and the challenge.
They can range from a focused half-day session to a multi-day strategic workshop, depending on the complexity of the topic and the number of people involved.
Where useful, the work can also include preparation with key stakeholders, pre-work or interviews, and a short follow-up to capture decisions, actions and next steps.
Start A Conversation
If you have a strategic, organisational or innovation question that would benefit from bringing people together around it, we can start with an introductory conversation.
